Water and Sanitation

Clean Water • Safe Sanitation • Healthy Communities

Access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation is fundamental to human health, dignity, and sustainable development. Despite global progress, millions of people—particularly in rural and underserved communities—continue to face challenges related to water scarcity, poor sanitation infrastructure, and inadequate hygiene practices.

Our Water and Sanitation initiative focuses on ensuring equitable access to clean, safe, and sustainable water sources while promoting improved sanitation facilities and hygiene awareness. The program adopts an integrated approach combining infrastructure development, community participation, and behavior change communication to create long-term impact.

Water and Sanitation Program

Key Interventions

  • Safe Drinking Water Infrastructure: Installation and rehabilitation of hand pumps, borewells, community water tanks, and water purification units with a focus on quality monitoring and sustainable water management.
  • Sanitation & Waste Management: Promotion of household and community toilets, waste management systems, and environmentally safe disposal mechanisms aligned with national sanitation missions.
  • Hygiene Promotion & Behavior Change: Awareness campaigns, school-based programs, and community training on hand-washing with soap, safe water storage, menstrual hygiene management, and cleanliness in public spaces.
  • Community Engagement & Ownership: Strengthening community participation, local leadership, and partnerships with government bodies and civil society organizations for long-term sustainability.

Program Impact

By improving access to clean water and sanitation, the initiative contributes to better public health, enhanced dignity, environmental sustainability, and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6 — Clean Water and Sanitation for All.
